In October, another group of volunteers travelled to The Gambia to visit the schools and to help wherever they could. One volunteer was Erica who shared her summary of the trip with us.
This was my second visit to The Gambia, my last being 7 years ago. There were lots of changes to see. One of my favourite being the lovely new building at Half Dye. The children and teachers were very proud of their schools. It was lovely to be in class to observe the lessons and take part in teaching. The children are so keen to learn and are so happy to be in school. I was made to feel so very welcome. I’m looking forward to visiting again in the future. I loved every minute of it and have so many memories of The Gambia and our wonderful group. I am missing it already.
