During 2025 three groups travelled across to our schools – in March, October and November
comprising of more than 50 people! They were also able to go out to Faraba and see the progress
on our new school there. It is always a wonderful opportunity to meet up with sponsored families.
Work is continuing on the building and the completion date is still September ’26. There has been
a shortage of cement in the country which held up progress for a while but now it is back on track.

The 40 ft container we sent out at the beginning of September, packed with school furniture
arrived just before the first group at the end of October, and we were able to start the task of
unloading and assembling. This was carried on when the second group arrived the following week.
Most of the furniture was for Kanifing and Half Dye schools but some will be transferred to
Faraba. We intend to purchase another container soon, specifically for Faraba. Appeals will be
going out to schools, churches and offices etc asking for furniture no longer needed. We are
extremely grateful for the last container load. There will be 16 classrooms to furnish, along with
offices, staffrooms etc. so we will be needing a huge amount of classroom/office tables, chairs,
cupboards etc.

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP WITH THIS.
A new development is the making of a ‘New Life Documentary’ tracing the beginning of our
schools` work, the development over the years and the future vision of NLCC. Daniel Coward, one
of our passionate supporters has spent weeks out in Gambia photographing, videoing and
interviewing in preparation for this documentary.
We reported previously on the achievements of Joanna who came top in the whole country two
years ago with her exam results. Her desire is to be an engineer and discussions are taking place in
the UK exploring the best way we can help her achieve her dream.
Another student Jamilatou, who this year achieved similar outstanding results, has her sights on
being a doctor and we are also supporting her.
Overall, it has been another fantastic year and we want to thank everyone who has played their
part in making it a success. Seeing the happy faces of the children when we are over in the schools
make all the effort worthwhile.
A VERY BIG THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU.
Ken Morgan (UK Director)
