Beth and Dan, leaders of the Youth Group at Legacy Church Doncaster took six of their Leadership
Academy students out to our schools and surrounding villages in November.
Beth writes:
It was truly life- changing as we served the schools, church and surrounding villages. The students
were all deeply impacted by the joy, faith and openness of the children and treasured the
opportunity to teach, listen and learn alongside them. The team also delivered a youth programme
for hundreds of our older students called 4Points whilst distributing bracelets to everyone,
illustrating the personal relationship we can have with God.
Being involved in something bigger than themselves challenged and inspired them and they were
motivated later in the week to leave a lasting LEGACY by sponsoring some of the children.
Emma, one of the students, writes.. My first time in the Gambia was amazing! The children`s pure
joy and welcome totally overwhelmed me. I enjoyed spending time with the older girls discussing
their interests, ambitions and dreams and I cannot wait to go back again to pick up where I left off.
Footnote- Beth has been part of NLCC for 17 years and works with Ken and his team on the finances.
